Hi all, momPerson here,

Well, we went to my nieces sweet sixteen and had a wonderful time. Then we
spent some time at the Jersey shore on Long Beach Island enjoying perfect
weather. Then we came home and collected our boys from the vet. What a
surprise THAT was.

We flew in late on Wednesday night so Thursday morning (at 7AM when they opened)
we were at the door. Well, Cyrus is used to staying with them when we go away.
They spoil him rotten. His vet has a mastiff and the two of them are good
friends and play together throughout the day. I LOVE this office, they are SO
into the animals ...money not so much. Years ago we hit a rough patch
financially and at the time my Sugar Magnolia had a ton of issues and they
treated everything at cost ... never billed for office visits or the vets time
and wrote scripts for all her meds so it was cheaper at the pharmacy. These
days we can manage retail and do so without a sound after the way we were
treated back then. Still, prices haven't gone up in years.

OK, so here's the surprise. I walked in with my DH and asked for Cyrus and
Snoopy. The girl behind the counter said "Oh SNOOPY ... the basset hound???
OMG I just LOVE him he's SOOOOOO cute!!!!" Well it took them about 15 minutes
to bring Snoopy out because everybody in the back had to get down on their hands
and knees and hug and kiss him goodbye. So we paid the bill (7 days times 2
dogs plus grooming ... lets not go there but well worth it to know my boys are
safe and sound) and out comes Snoopy ... happy and sleek and 2 lbs heavier (ok,
who's been feeding my basset treats nonstop sinceI left?) and everybody is
smiling and I ask .... "where's Cyrus?" Oh .... yeah .... Cyrus .... somebody
go get Cyrus while I play with the basset hound. WHAT?? So they go get Cyrus
and he comes CHARGING out from the back. Nobody can walk Cyrus on a lead but DH
or I .... the rest of the world he drags with extreme power ... the big buff guy
actually couldn't hold him once he saw me and had to let go or be pulled down.
Now my poor Cyrus is 2 lbs LIGHTER and they tell me he was a picky eater which
he's usually not. He was JEALOUS. He is usually the star and they paid more
attention to his new baby brother and BOYwas he unhappy about that!!! Take me
to the car I am SO done here.

So we did. The boys are fine and happy and eating and playing well together and
all is well in our house.

Relieve momPerson with
Snoopy -- "Anybody wanna pet me, I'm adorable"
and
Cyrus -- "harrumph!!"
