I have two extremely well behaved bassets. I can't imagine who thinks the breed is mischievous.
OK there was the time Rolph took himself off to the supermarket and the time Clara shredded a new roll of TP round the house just before the arrival of a potential buyer, but that's all.
Actually, there was the incident when Rolph grabbed the Christmas turkey and the times I have found Clara on the dining room table - not to mention the time they both jumped into a police car, when the officers had pulled up because Rolph had gone flat basset and they thought I might be ill treating him.
And I suppose thy do both counter cruise and Rolph does go through visitors' bags and pockets. And, of course, I can no longer keep fruit in the living room as Clara can climb up to the highest shelf by jumping up on to the PC - bu she has never knocked it down.
And as for barbecues, don't get me started...
But I can't imagine why people think they are naughty. After you've lived with them for a while you just stop worrying about it.
Sally, with Rolph and Clara, UK
