[Dailydrool] Advice - hopefully nothing

As I posted quite recently, both my houndies turn seven this year. There is roughly six months between them, which means Clara's birthday is around now. I know Rolph's is in October.
My concern is this. Up until the end of last year, people mistook Clara, who is very small, for a puppy. At the end of last year she started to get a grey chin. Now, suddenly, with this moult (and boy, is she moulting) her entire body seems to be going much, much greyer, and the quality of her coat is changing from velvet to course.
Some vague bell is ringing at the back of my head about a coat making such a radical change so quickly. The coat which is coming through looks and feels like that of a really old dog, dry and wiry, not just one crossing the senior line.
Does it ring a bell with anyone else, or am I just being a worry wart? She remains happy, energetic and has a good appetite, but she has had a lot of tummy upsets since January and one of them is drinking a lot more water than they did.
Drool to all who have lost loved pets recently and those feeling sick and tired.
Sally, with Rolph and Clara, UK, who were very pleased to see three pawsonal houndy friends placed at Crufts yesterday.
