Many people have seriously misconstrued what I wrote earlier.
Thank you to those people who have written me privately.
I note that the people who want to criticize me have taken care to do  
so publicly, at least initially, which in light of my prior message,  
is no surprise.
I thought Beth's post was very clear and helpful, and I must say that  
her subsequent personal comments to me came at a much-needed moment.

To Deb Winchester, whom some critics seem to think I was in some way  
seeking to hurt, I make this statement:
I never intended to hurt you, Deb. I have wanted to say something  
about private emails and public posts for a long time, and it has no  
bearing at all on any specific hound or recent loss.
As you know--tho others may doubt--I sent you an email, privately,  
when Clara passed.
Others speaking for you seem to feel that you were some kind of  
target, so I want to reassure you that was never the case.
In public.

A kind person has pointed out that internet forums can cause people to  
lose inhibitions that they would normally keep in physical proximity.
