I wish I could've gotten that advice when Pierre was a puppy. We started
calling him "Pooper" because it took us nearly a year to get him trained. He
would sneak downstairs in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom
(number 2) in the living room. At the time, we lived in a townhouse. We
purchased a home right after Pierre turned 1. Amazingly, he was completely
broke when we moved into the brand new home. Had an accident on 4/16, no
more accidents from 4/17 on. The only thing I can think of is for Pierre,
the new house and new carpet may have done the trick. Pierre turns 13 on
Monday, by the way. My beautiful old man. My time is running out with him,
so have decided to tell as many stories about him as I can remember.
Incidentally, we had to replace the carpet at the townhouse. Between a
$250.00 move-in security deposit and a $300.00 pet fee deposit, I got back a
whopping $17.00. It was a large living room to be fair. Probably broke the
habit for the next doggie that moved in. :)
