[Dailydrool] URGENT: Ear infection advice

I had an anguished e-mail from a basset owner yesterday. Monty has had bad ears for ages. I had given her the blue power recipe, but his eardrums had ruptured, so she couldn't use it.
Despite frequent vet trips and antibiotics she was told an ablation was the only course. However, now things have got so bad the vet has said it is too late for the operation and he will have to be PTS.

She is desperate. Has anyone got any ideas? And no, I don't know why things have dragged on so long, or if any cultures have been done, although I did advise cultures and a specialist about a month ago.
