I had to send my old lab, Buster, to the Rainbow Bridge on monday,  
5-16-11.
He was bringing up this white foamy stuff, and he just couldn't walk.   
It was
worse than normal.  He would walk for a couple steps then fall down.   
So I
called the vet and took him down.  She examined him and we decided to  
give
him the act of kindness and send him to the bridge.  I laid there on  
the floor
with and cried into his fur as he made his journey.  To make this  
basset related,
he was the big brother to my bassets, Roscoe and Chloe.

Being owned by an animal, is sure tough on us.  But it's our final act  
of love.
