I wanted to thank everyone for all the drool and support during my recent
illness. The last of the biopsies has come back finally and they were all
negative! The medication I've been on for the last few weeks has helped
alot, and I'm back at work, even though I'm still pretty tired. I can't
tell you all how much it meant to me having the support of all my DD
friends while I was going through this.

Please welcome our new edition to our pack Baxter:

Baxter is an extremely spry 12-year-old who hails from Daphneyland. He's
red & white and has huge paws and all the basset wrinkles! He tips the
scale around 75 lbs, and just had a sebaceous cyst removed from his back
last week, leaving a 6" incision that still has stitches in it. It seems
to be healing quite well though, and the stitches come out in about a
week. His nose is the strongest (and largest) I've ever had in any of my
bassets. They were all strong smellers, but he's amazing. He can smell a
crumb three rooms away!

Except for some minor separation anxiety, he is settling in well. The only
other problem we have is that he keeps marking in the house. This is
especially an issue since we are in the process of showing the house to
prospective buyers. Does anyone have any suggestions for cubing this habit?

Baxter has already laid claim to the orthopedic dog bed that was Coppers,
and is right next to my bed. Elphaba was a bit bent out of shape for about
a day, but she's over it now. In fact, this morning they did something
that she and Copper always used to do, about half way through their meal
they switched bowls and finished off each other's breakfast! Is that a
basset thing or is it just my bassets?

Thank you to Dawn and her crew at Daphneyland for taking such good care of
this smooshy boy until his forever family came along.
