First outs at 6:22 am. It is unbelievable, but really believable knowing how smart dogs are, that every morning Jr. wakes me up at 6:22 every morning.
That being said, I call rally to outs for the rest of the sleepy herd. When I put the martingale on JP, he winced, and then I noticed a huge gaping lesion in his right ear. I knew he and Jr. sparred at 8 am yesterday morning, and I saw that Jr. had a great hold on JP's ear flap, but when I checked JP over, I could not see the wound. I saw no blood drops anywhere, and while I spent the later part of the day visiting Mom, my sister didn't notice anything either.
JP went to the Vet Asap in the AM when I first saw the lesion. The problem is controlled now, and again he has a drain in a surgical area, will go back Sat. to get that out. Stitches out or let them dissolve, to be determined.
Yikes, I know how he got this injury, and I am so sorry it took me 22 hours to find the wound. I thought I checked him carefully, but it was not the typical ear injury. It was behind the high hump of the ear flap, didn't bleed much (no vein hit), and he did not demonstrate discomfort till this AM.
I feel like the worst Mom slave ever.
Stiches out from the last operation, new stitches right back in. Well, I think he may well have run his course of problems, and I pray this to be true. ENUF!!!
Healing drool to all in need,
Jax and the herd
