Happy  Calendar Day and Happy 7th Birthday to my very spoiled boy Albee.  It seems like only yesterday that he picked me out by laying on my foot at the BYBs (before I knew any better) at the age of 7 weeks.   He peed in class on the 1st day of puppy kindergarten, which the rest of the class thought was hilarous.  He passed his AKC CGC with no problem much to the surprise of the instructor, who owned dobermans and never had a basset in her class. He is my 4:45am alarm clock everyday as we take his morning stroll (before I go to work) and he thinks weekends should be included. The walk is repeated when I get home at which time the neighbors always laugh when I put a select size bounty paper towel under his butt to poop on (does make pick-up easier for me) or when he stops dead in his tracks and holds up his paw until I take the sticker out that he stepped on or especially when he decides he doesn't want to move and pulls flat basset and I have to wait him out (I am no longer a Type A personality - I have learned patience). My DH, who was not a dog person B.A. (before Albee) has stated that he never thought he would feel this way about a dog. So, to the hound who has a bed in every room, Happy Birthday, your slaves love you very, very much!!
