I have been making coffee lately, Moon Doggie Pierre's French Toast, which is just so smooth, sweet and delicious. I share a pot with my sister, and she is drinking more than her normal one cup of Starbucks, and she is getting caffeine buzzed. Not the best day for the hounds to pick on her, plus the rumor mill is speculating that American Airlines is going to file chapter 11, and she is tense regarding the possible loss of her job and pension.
That being said, Pierre stole her underpants. She was OK with that, and since he resource guards, she said just ignore him, not a biggie. If he is ignored, stealing is not so much fun. When he was over "it", I walked past him, I was able to kick them away from him, but he did mange to put two giant holes in them.
Sis thought she had her door closed shut and secure, and when I took my bath to get ready to visit Mom, he broke into her room. This time he stole her checkbook and important papers, contact info, and now she was starting to boil. To get Pierre away from that conquest, I opened the door to Mom's unoccupied room where I keep a small fridge with chicken jerky. They all barrel into that room when that door opens. Sis got her stuff back, and doors stared slamming when she assessed the damage, and her voice started to bellow. Luckily, I had a little present for her, and I was able to distract her anger.
Left to visit Mom, stopping at the grocery and Home Depot on the way. Decided to unload before going to Mom as stores are nearby. I bought the wrong finish on the wall paint, got bags of dirt twice the size than needed, but I got the rollers right. (What do I know, this is not my field of expertise.) She didn't yell at me, but she was mad at Max because in the short time I was out, he saw something out the window in the living room, and he pulled down the curtains, bending the curtain rod. Over the years, he has damaged the walls, rods and curtains many many times.
While Sis was checking out what I bought, I went up to change my shirt because I got filthy transporting the big bags of dirt. I put the bag of avocados that I had spent 20 minutes hand picking and mulling over for the guacamole I was going to make on the counter. I don't know why I didn't put it in the fridge, but with me upstairs and sister in the dining room, there they were for the grabbing by the lovely Mr. jr. Not so cuddly now, all of a sudden I am hearing his grrrr grrrr grrrr, so I race down, grab the long handled tongs and the roast beef on hand for pill giving. We managed to get one away with no visible damage to the cado. The second one we got had one hole, but I had already decided, no matter what, they are all going to recycle as the pup eats poop. Now, with only two remaining, he was guarding them more fiercely. Sis was showering him with the squirt bottle, so he really didn't get a chance to chew, and I checked on line what the health threat would be for him. ASPC considers them toxic, but it has been reported that pet owners have and do feed avocado to dogs. I preferred to err for caution, so, now I got the broom. Even with Roast beef distraction, opening the door to Mom's room, Jr. was determined to make his own version of guacamole. Finally, I got the third. It didn't appear he could have ingested much, but now for the last gem, he was really determined to hold on to it. I suggested to Sis to let him relax, and he finally dropped it. As he turned to yell at my sister, I was able to cover it with the broom and roll it away. Whew, that was quite the battle. I don't think he got much avocado at all, and I know he wouldn't let me peroxide him.
Tomorrow, antibiotics or not, he gets a short walk.
Healing drool to all in need,
Jackie and the herd
