Prolotherapy is approved for use in humans, and works very well in many
cases - but like all treatments, it does not work on everything or everyone.
Most doctors don't know about it so they refer you to a surgeon. And if you
go to a surgeon, you're going to get surgery. As I understand it,
Prolotherapy is actually very irritating to the join and somehow this causes
the cartilage to start regenerating. Good to know they are starting to use
it on animals, too, it would be wonderful if it helped bad Basset backs.
