[Dailydrool] Dan update

Well, Dan seems a teeny bit better today. Probably a result of the steroids that Doc gave him yesterday. He got sedated and Doc looked down hin throat as far as he could and felt down there too. Says he has a mobile mass about the size of a half dollar. He tried to aspirate it but could only get a little clear fluid. No pus so that was good. He sent the cells off to be looked at, but we're not hopeful.  He doesn't think it's cancer, really thinks it's infection. At least I know it's not in the base of his brain. We've got him on antibiotics, stronger than the last round but not the big guns yet. We'll switch to something stronger if he doesn't look improved by tomorrow. He hadn't eaten since Saturday morning.  I held his food yesterday morning knowing he was going to be sedated and got him several kinds of canned puppy food yesterday. Finally got him to eat last night, slowly. He was a little more enthusiatic this morning. I hope the
 worst of this is over. The only other thing Doc and I could think of was an ear thing. He looked, but as we know, the basset ear is a thing to behold (not) and he couldn't see down deep. If we still have issues by the end of the week, we'll be off to a specialist. Thank you for all the drool. I know it has helped and will help us lick this thing. Randee and the White House Gang
