I just read a post about a basset named George going to the bridge. Well,
another George went to the bridge today, mine. I had adopted George 6 years
ago from Guardian Angel Rescue in Ill. George was 13 Years and 4 months. He
started with what I call doggy dementia about 6 months ago. At night he
would just wander and pace, I was not able to get him to relax. He only
slept when he was so tired then he would crash and sleep. He would bump
into everything, walls, furniture. It also seemed that he would not know
me, instead seemed to look directly through me. I believed during these
times he was disoriented and a bit confused. All testing would come back
neg or normal. Then this past weekend, the doggy dementia spilled over to
the day time hours. He couldn't seem to find his food dish, couldn't find
the door in which to go outside, etc. His vision was always poor but he
wasn't blind. His quality of life just wasn't there. So, now he joins
another George in a trip to the bridge. George, my lost, lost little boy.
Now is home among the clouds. Jerri, mom to Moose and ATB: Fred, Barney,
Molly, Mabel, Paris, Winkie and George, my lost little boy.
