I had to laugh because our cover of  the survival guide is almost totally chewed up, evidence of the then 6 -month -old Eugene's opinion of who was really in charge!  Acquiring a basset after a lifetime of poodles was quite the culture shock to say the least!!Georgia and Eugene ( whom we've had for 6.5 years amazingly now--I really didn't think I'd survive those early days! )
