Please drool for my little guy, Dexter.

On Wednesday Dexter vomited once. Yesterday, he ate breakfast, but afterwards he started vomiting repeatedly. It stopped, but he had no interest at all in dinner. Meanwhile, he was pooping frequently all evening, rather loose stools. Today, when he had some dry heaves early in the morning, I decided to take him to the vet's.

This morning's X-ray showed that he has food still in his stomach. He has not been vomiting anymore. But since he hasn't eaten for over a day, the vet is perplexed at why he'd still have food in his tum.

On Thursday I had gotten some dog food and left the bag in the kitchen. Usually the hounds will sniff at the bag and leave it alone. After dinner, I think, I came into the kitchen and saw Holly standing over the bag, which now had some rather large holes in it. Of course I figured she was the culprit and yelled at her appropriately. But now I am wondering if it was my usually perfect boy, Dexter.

I am very concerned because this bag was one of those metallic sort, and I'm wondering if it has done some real damage to my favorite little boy. I could kick myself for thinking it was safe to leave the bag there! But that does not explain why Dex was vomiting the day before, so it could be something else.

I have to call the vet at five, by which time she will have taken another X-ray to see how things are. I'm going crazy after an afternoon of worrying! So please sling plenty of drool for my Dexter.
