Can someone please explain to me why my approximately 14 year old Bassador just this week decided that it is fun to pull toilet paper off the roll? This is entirely new behavior. Could it have something to do with Molly St Lucie joining The Gang?

Speaking of the Molly dog, it took her about 10 days to get over her company manners. Yes, the honeymoon is over. She is active, demanding, bossy, expectant, has a huge sense of entitlement. Into EVERYTHING. Today I opened the pantry and she LUNGED in to grab her bag of food off the shelf. She knocks things over. Snoops around every inch of the house. Today she spent some enjoyable time tearing up some packing paper. How she did it with no teeth is beyond me. Then we had quality couch time with her draped across my lap looking at me upside down like DONT STOP PETTING ME. Just melts my heart.

I do so enjoy reading the posts on Alpha dogs and who is the boss. This house will be in turmoil when Mary Myrtle the quiet matriarch is gone. Not that it is iminent, she is going strong. I just wonder who would try to take over. I hope not Carly. Carly does not handle the responsibility well. She buckles under pressure. Probably Gigi. Gigi is pretty bossy. Actually, the next Alpha in line is the Maine Coon cat. Everyone but Myrtle defers to him. It is all so interesting to observe with six dogs and five cats.

Have a good safe weekend everyone.
