[Dailydrool] Gabe's back surgery

This Thursday is the day for Gabe's back surgery.  He has intervertebral
disc disease.  I am a little nervous about being able to properly take
care of him post- surgery so that he does not hurt himself, but I'm sure
we will manage.  I plan to beg off of hosting the family Christmas dinner
this year because even crated, I know I will not be able to keep him from
wiggling, etc. when he sees everyone.  Gabe virtually does the "twist"
when he greets visitors - his whole body wags.  We plan on keeping
visitors to the house a bare minimum during his recovery period because he
loves everyone and gets very excited to see people come in.  Medvet will
keep him overnight and possibly longer depending on how he handles the
pain.

Any other suggestions would be welcome.
