[Dailydrool] Hopping barkers

Lilie's one-paw-lifted bark might be unique -- though with bassets, if it
is odd it's common if you know what I mean.

Vernon Q Basset lifts both front paws when he barks. He does not bark
quietly ("what does bark quietly mean?" asks Vern) and it doesn't matter if
it's an 'i am starving' bark or an 'i am glad to see you' bark. We've
always assumed that it is just the force of the bark that blasts him
backward... sort of like the recoil on a very large shotgun. But louder.
Oh, much, much louder. This theory is not very scientific, but neither is
Vernon Q.

All is quiet now since we're just back from a walk. Vernon Q and Paddi B
are drooling quietly for Nigel and all others who need it. Like everyone, I
am heartsick to read about Baylee. My wish for this kind of event is always
the same -- may those who did it come to full awareness of their actions
and the impact of their actions. Sounds mild-mannered until you think about
it.

Hugging my hounds and knowing you're all doing the same,
Mary
& Paddi B Basset (quit hugging! I'm trying to sleep here!)
& Vernon Q Basset (could you take up less couch, please?)
