[Dailydrool] Thank you & Update on Cowboy's Ear

First, thank you to everyone who responded both on and off list
regarding my concerns about Cowboy's fluid-filled ear bubble. (And
just to note, the off-list responses were similar to the on-list, so
don't worry, everything was conveyed to the list - I am not
withholding valuable info for another drooler.) :-)

So we saw our new vet on Saturday and of course by then, the bubble
had decreased in size significantly. But nonetheless we ponied up the
cash and saw the vet. He confirmed what most everyone suggested - a
hematoma - and said that if it continued to go down in size he wanted
me to go to Tahoe and bet big at the casinos because we would be
oh-so-lucky. If it fills back up or changes size for the worse, we are
to bring Cow back in to have it drained.

Overall we really liked the new vet. He has been in business over 30
years and seems knowledgeable of bassets. His offices were clean and
tidy, but definitely older. I liked it though because my last vet had
a nice office with a bunch of fancy gadgets and the prices we paid
showed it. This guy was really reasonably priced and seemed to be in
the biz solely to help animals. We'll be taking Rupert for a new
patient exam in the near future. :)
