[Dailydrool] Vets and A1 client list

Hi all, it's Dale,

If I didn't already mention it, I love my vet.  We have a 15 year relationship 
and it's all good.  When money has been tight they charged me the absolute 
minimum and when things are better I pay retail and don't complain.  When I 
brought Thor in as a foster they did the exam and rabies vaccine for free.  Then 
they did the neuter, tooth cleaning, etc, etc for under $300 .... which is 
AMAZING ...  They also have something called an A1 client list.  So, if you are 
tops in their books they give you 3 free exams a year.  Which is great for us 
because if I have a question I usually call the vet, and they often tell me to 
"bring him in" which can get expensive.  So, by giving me 3 free exams a year, 
it takes the edge off of  "bring him in."  Also, they are ALWAYS willing to have 
a vet tech take a look, and that is always free .... so if somebody starts to 
limp all of a sudden and they have no appointments I can still bring the dog 
down and a tech will look and tell me if I need to be concerned and/or limit 
activity until he can see a vet (if he needs too).

All of this amazes me because I live in the heart of Silicon Valley where 
everything is overpriced, but not my vet.  They really do care more about the 
pets then the money, which is how it should be.

Maybe folks could talk to their vets about some of the above ideas/programs.  
Maybe other vets would like these ideas too?
