[Dailydrool] this evening-Bona

HI all,

 

I have a few minutes before I need to go pick up Bona from her stay with the
vet today.  Everyone just ate and it is relatively quiet.and I finally got
that cup of decaf, I have been craving.

 

This morning when I took Bona in, I was so worried as she was depressed and
lethargic.  I had them do a barium series despite what the regular x-rays
looked like, I just needed to be certain there was no blockage, and there is
not.  We did some blood work and she is anemic and her albumin is low.  Both
could be due to the intestinal inflammation, so we are not too concerned,
we will retest in a few weeks.

We also ran the test for pancreatitis and she has it.  Guess those bags had
too much fat in them..L

So, we have avoided surgery, and are treating for the pancreatitis.  She is
coming home and will go back in the morning for more antibiotics and fluids,
IV.

 

Thank you all so much for your concern for Miss Bona.     This pica thing is
a mystery.  We may put her on something like Prozac once she is better to
see if that will help curb it.

 

Back to work for me,  hugs and drool to all in need.
