[Dailydrool] Pam, 0; Jane, at least 1/2 an avocado

Today I had a bunch of things to do and didn't get home until really late for lunch. I had some leftover fajitas in the fridge and an avocado to go on top of them. I carefully cut up the fruit and left half of it on the kitchen cart. (Can you see where this is going?)

Dexter is too short to counter cruise. Holly may sometimes do it, because I have found her with odd things on the floor that I know weren't there before. Jane has arthritis and can't do much cruising--at least, that's what I thought. So how is it that she got at least half an avocado from the kitchen cart? I found her with it in her mouth and grabbed some of it, mostly skin, but she still got a very large part of it.

Now I read online that it can be dangerous for dogs. I don't have to worry about the nut, which was not there, but she got the rest of it. I called my vet, who wasn't all that worried about it. But online it says they can be dangerous, even though some dog foods include avocado. Has anyone had a dog eat an avocado? What were the results?

I will be keeping my eye on Jane tonight, and I'm asking for drool that we will not be doing a late-night ER visit.

That Deramaxx must be working better than I thought. I have my counter cruiser back again!
Pam
