[Dailydrool] Anti-Plaque Products

I have been giving my three an anti-plaque water additive containing Xylitol 
for well over a year now, and I have had absolutely no problem whatsoever. 
I cannot taste the sweetness in the stuff right out of the bottle, and as 
long as a person uses this stuff "as directed", I'm confident that it 
doesn't pose a problem.  It is mixed two measuring teaspoons of product to 
one quart of water.  It's very well diluted.  This stuff was recommended to 
me by a vet.  I've seen the benefits that this particular product has had on 
my dogs' teeth.  It works particularly well.  But, nothing replaces daily 
brushing.  I would think that if a dog got into a pack of sugarless gum that 
contained Xylitol, there would be more of a problem because it's far, far 
more concentrated.  Or if one tried to use the product I use directly on a 
dog's teeth without diluting, then perhaps, but mixed as directed, I have 
not have a problem.  My one dog, in particular, has a very bad tartar 
problem, and this helps keep it in check.
