[Dailydrool] Raymond's growth

Hi, Droolers!  Over a year ago when Raymond was in for an examination,we were told by our vet they discovered a small growth in his rectum, in such a location that if they operated to remove it, he'd likely become incontinent.  Since we didn't want him to have to go thru it, we decided to "wing it" with the growth, and hope it didn't grow too quickly.  A week or so ago I took him to a nearby (different) vet to have his nails clipped & his anal glands drained, and she talked w/me afterward and told me he has a mass and it's in a peculiar location which would involve his becoming incontinent if it were removed.  So, we know it's growing and getting larger.  We're feeling so depressed about it, but Raymond seems to be OK with what's going on now.  Not in pain, and able to live his normal life.  So, we just wait and watch.  Our hearts go out to Helena - with her Lucky and his condition.  Our Raymond also came to us thru MABR and Kim & Bruce,
 and he has been running things around here for over 6 years.  He was 4 when he arrived here.  And we're wishing good health to Poppy - Julie please keep us posted on his progress w/chemo. 
 
By the way, we sure miss MABR and the St. Pat's Day basset waddle and all the wonderful things Kim and Bruce did for us basset folks.
 
Just wanted to let our DD friends know about Raymond.  Hope all the houndies are enjoying their winter.                               Beryl & Raymond
