It's definately a different shot.

For distemper it is brand new and the vets office has to be certified to do it. 
 If you want more information I encourage you to contact Central Animal Hospital 
at 408 377 4043 where they offer the 3 year distemper shot and all of the 
information along with it.

For Rabies the 3 year is different from the one year, the charge is different 
and so is the code.  Again, you can certainly get all of the information from 
the vet.
