Our Tilly, age 5, thin-haired red and white, also LOVES the hot sun and does not mind walking in the 90's.  She seems OK.  I, too, drag her in after about 5-10 minutes in the hot sun.  I have even put sunscreen (natural cactus juice) on her tummy because she gets pink!!

Here in Melbourne Beach, FL, we are cooler than most. Our highs have been in the high 80's.  

The other 2 are black and they cannot tolerate any hot sun on their backs or paws!!  They are now doing most of their basset 500's indoors right before bedtime!!  Bedtime is when the sun goes down and wake up is when the sun comes up (except for Tilly, who wakes us up by 6am scratching and licking, then goes back to sleep after we are both up having coffee.

What would we do without our furbabies!!

i am happy to announce that we had a great time with our 3 grandchildren and 3 dogs for 4 days while they visited.  The dogs LOVED them!!  Ages 7,9 & 12.  What neat ages.  We kyaked and swam at the beach and went to the parks!!  The kids left yest3erday and the dogs are still looking out the doors and windows for them!!  They slept a lot today!!

                      Harvey - I LOVE to be out in the SHADE - I would stay all day if there were not bobcats in the lot next to us
