[Dailydrool] sad sometimes

Hi, it's Dale,

I read about Dottie and Scooby and I feel your pain.  I agree that dogs do
grieve.  But honestly, I think something else is going on too.  I think they're
sad because YOU are sad and miss Honey.  When I read the part about the swing it
made me sure.  These dogs .... they know.

A couple of months ago I had one of the roughest days I've had in a very long
time.  My husbands chemo (which is going FINE now and almost done, thank G-d)
was in trouble.  My teenage daugthers grades were tanking .... she had a 'D' in
Geometry on a progress report (she wound up on the honor roll).  Work was a
crazy mess.  I came home and the girls and my husband were fighting.  I just lay
down on the floor on my back and started to sob.   Cyrus and LuLu weren't too
sure what to do but Snoopy knew.  He approached me very, very slowly and
carefully.  He circled me there on the floor, sniffing me from head to foot
while I lay there crying (I think he was playing the clown and trying to make me
laugh).  Finally ....... he approached my face and ........slathered my entire
face with a slick, slimy covering of drool from forehead to chin.  At that point
I was laughing ..... slowly and then hysterically.  I needed a towel ....
seriously.  I sat up and all three dogs sat around me in a circle and wouldn't
let the kids OR Greg anywhere near me for a while.

These dogs they know how we feel and it affects how they feel in a big way.
They cannot and will not be happy while we're sad.  So, we've got to chin up for
these guys just like we do for kids.  I agree with Bev .... especially if it
will help pull YOU out of your funk .... go save some hound and bring them home
to Dottie and Scooby.

Good luck and G-d Bless,
Dale .... aka the clueless momPerson
