George was left behind in a hot yard as his owners moved away and left him behind to eat dried up grass with no water. A neighbor spotted him and took him to the Animal Control. He had until tomorrow before his time was up.
Carolina Basset Rescue came to his rescue and took him to their vet just today. 
He is horribly emaciated and has a grapefruit size tumor on his side. His ears were horrible with infection, this is what the volunteer who got him and took him to the vet said.....

He's weak and extremely emaciated.  There is nothing hidden on this boy -- you can run your finger along the cup of his pelvic bones.  He's got a temp of 105, and is not feeling well.  Ears are gunky and smelly, but not horrendous.  He will need to stay at the vet hospital for a few days before he'll be ready to neuter and have tumors removed.  Dr. is going to put him on antibiotics for the infection, metacam to bring the fever down, and give a half bag of sub-Q dextrose.
