I don't know what purpose you need the harness for but we've always liked the Ruffwear Webmaster harness from www.ruffwear.com  Since we hike with our boys we like the double straps(chest and belly strap) which insures that the harness cannot slip off. They're very durable and have a handle on the top if you need to lift the dog. The only drawback is that some folks have clipped the harness to a tie-out and the continual wear on the D-ring attachment will eventually wear out but that's not the purpose of the harness.
