[Dailydrool] eating Chinese

Here is my personal (only *my personal*) theory about buying dog food
products from China:
Years ago when the first poisonings occured it may have been accidental.
By the time it has happened 30 gazillion times it is not accidental but
either neglect, carelessness or deliberate. And I am not blaming the
Chinese here: it seems to me that Diamond and several other companies just
don't give a rat's ass what we offer the dogs.
So I no longer buy ANYTHING that has the word CHINESE on it anywhere. This
means hours of reading labels at the dogfood store, much to the unbridled
delight of Conley, who would eat anything.
"This one Mom, this one!"
"No, son: it is from China."
"But but but it is a BULLY stick!!"
"Put it back son, it might have poison in it."
"Whimper: why would they do that, Mom?"
(Looking at Conley and thinking about the ice cream sandwich he scored last
night...)
"geee, Conley, I don't know......"
But I do know.BECAUSE IT'S CHEAP, that's why!!!
Good old American Greed. Who cares how good it is when the bottom line is
what it costs? Ok so a few dogs kick the bucket...hey..they're still buying
it.

So if it says Chinese.
If it doesn't state CLEARLY on the package that it is ALL made in America
and not outsourced to anywhere else, I don't buy it.
Maybe if we all did that, or all began cooking for the dogs, the Dept of Ag
and the FDA would get the idea. Not tomention Diamond and the other big
companies that outsource. Yah Think?

A highly vexed MomPerson who no longer trusts anyone (not that she ever
did.) in the corporate world. And Nigel, Llewis and Conley who aren't so
sure.
