[Dailydrool] Kelvin scared me bad today.

Well we had a horrible day today and I'm just now recovering.
First Kelvin decided he didn't want to eat breakfast.... again. I had to
get hubby to the airport so he could fly out for an interview tomorrow.
Before we left we found blood all over the deck. Little drops, like
someone had snapped a nail. Checked everyone, Kelvin was leaking nearly
black blood from his penile shaft. I cleaned him up, drove like a crazy
person to get hubby on his plane and back to get Kelvin to the vet. An
hour and a half after we got to the vet, 5 different tests, an x-ray and
$300 later he's going further down hill, his kidney values are still
slowly rising meaning the CRF is advancing faster, and vet can't
pinpoint what he did to cause all the blood this morning but she's going
to treat him for a urinary tract infection, just in case. The blood was
blessedly absent by the time I got back from the airport to take him to
the vet.
She did the x-ray because we both felt a really hard mass in his
abdomen, nothing there, didn't even see any arthritis in the portion of
legs and back in the view. Blood tests, except kidney functions, are
totally normal. No sign of cancer. His urinalysis showed his CRF worse
as we expected with just a touch of bacteria and a very minute amount of
blood. Otherwise NOTHING.

But we are changing his course of treatment for the CRF, he is now on
sub-q fluids twice a week to help keep him flushed.

Took an hour to clean up all the blood, and there was a ton of it,
everywhere in the laundry room, the deck looked like a war zone.....
Send kidney and old geezer drool for him and send hubby job landing
drool! He needs work!!! He was laid off end of January.
