Hey, fellow droolers...Help me out here...

After the rain stopped early this afternoon, I woke up from my couch nap and roused Mom from her Literary Blog reverie and demanded a walk. So, there we were, sauntering around the neighborhood--lots of good sniffs and smells and ideal places in the tall, unmoewn grass to pee and poop..so, at one point, Mom reaches down to untangle my Flex-lead from my back legs (I tend to get entwined every so often) and she finds this "thing"...this "growth" a few inches just below my chin, on my neck, under my collar, of all places. And while it is small, it is pink and has these little flappy and flabby nodules, and is in the exact same place that I had one at almost this same time last year...
What does this mean?
Last time, the vet "froze" it off--thank goodness it was benign then--but to have it recur at the same place at the same time this year?
Mom is taking me to the vet's next Tuesday ('cause that is Senior Citizen's discount day--she hates to admit it, but she's a VERY young senior, if I must stay so myself for her) to see what it is and what can be done...But I am worried, and so is my Mom, who lost my predecessor to almost the same thing in his mouth...the big C...at "only" 16 and a half...not that old age had anything to do with him crossing the Bridge.
Probably it's "nothing"... but I wanna know if us Bassets are as prone to sebacious cysts as "they" say we are and if anyone else out there has these "minor" skin problems as I do... Otherwise, I am very healthy and have a shining read and white coat and a slimn waist and a winning grin (just see me on the PBF site!), and will eat anything, anytime, anywhere!
Mom is nearly, but not quite, frantic with worry. I need to be here for Basset Camp in the Summer, and to help her write the second volume of The Basset Chronicles...and I'm only four and half!
Any ideas?
Woofs and drools to all...
Blessings,
FrankieBernard, Ensign First Class, PBF
and bestest canine companion to June
