I'd be interested in hearing what to look for regarding basset lumps and bumps. We have had experiences with four different kinds of lumps and bumps on Bo so far. One cyst (a soft bulge under his skin on a hip: vet advice--leave it alone); a number of skin tags (little pieces of pink skin like flaps the size of a fingernail cutting attached by one end: vet advice--leave it alone); keloids (looks like an outbreak of pink cauliflower heads; these are a type of collagen growth that sometimes develops like scar tissue at places where there have been scratches or scrapes; ugly but harmless; vet advice--leave it alone, Bo's tummy looks a little elephant man-ish); hemangiosarcoma (looked like a black mole; cancerous; vet advice--remove immediately and biopsy. If removed early with clean margins, curable. whew. it's been several years since this one was removed and there has been no recurrence).
