Droolers: Warning!!!
I have permission from the author to cross=post this.
While it is from the Belgian list, and while many herding breeds are more
sensitive to chemicals than other breeds, I thought it was well worth
putting out here.

>Lacey, a
Belgian Tervuren) developed staggering gait, mouth hanging open,
head down, pupils dilated, and rapid respirations
about 4 to 5 hours after we applied Certifeck (New tick and heart-worm
medicine similar to Frontline). Took her to the Emergency
clinic and they treated her with a reversal agent and washed her off. She
was better in 30 minutes and her usual self an hour or
two later. Vet there said this was the second case she has seen this week.
She reported both cases; but the company that sells
this stuff doesn't want to believe it is from their product. Lacey was
with us all day and we know she didn't get into anything else.
Vet researched this after the first case and there have "only" been two
deaths reported with its use and both those were elderly
dogs.
I'd think twice about using this product if I were you; but at least now
you will know what to expect and that there is a reversal
drug available. If you decide to use Certifeck, I'd suggest you use it in
the morning so your vet will be available if there is a problem
and be sure to put it between the shoulders so they can't lick it.<
