Really, Guinness, you are being a wonderful basset pup. You're giving your humans lots of memories.

What kind of literature do you like to read? My favorite was cookbooks, 'cause they always tasted so good. I don't think I did any landscaping, but it's been a lot of years since I was a pup, and I may just not be remembering. I did chew up the butler's table my uncle had made for the grandparents, though. And TV remotes destroyed--my mom stopped counting at six.

Mom says to tell the humans that if they are really consistent in training you, all these things they hate will end. I was such a terror that mom refuses to do puppies anymore, but by the time I was, oh, maybe two, I was pretty well behaved. She just kept on doing what she was supposed to, and eventually I calmed down and even listened a little.

I am fourteen now, and mom still vividly remembers those puppy days. But she says they go by quickly, even though your humans might not believe that right now. Mom wishes I could be young again, because she'd like to keep me forever.
