[Dailydrool] Lady Colette Buttons, aka, Coco Puff, aka The Squish

Poor, Poor Colette took a flying leap (almost) onto a lawn chair yesterday, and had a major crash and burn.  I screamed in horror, and Sis didn't see it at all, but it was bad.  She usually nails it, but something failed her, either sight, footing or just general malaise or misstep.  She showed no symptoms of possible reaction to the fall until late last night when after three tries she couldn't get on the couch, usually an easy task for her.  Of course, I lifted her up and down the rest of the night.
This morning, she was in obvious pain, so I got her to the Vet ASAP.  We didn't do X-rays yet, as  it doesn't seem to be neurological and her gait is fine, but she SCREAMS in agony if touched in the area on the left side where the waist is.  (Note, she typically is dramatic, and I cannot say if it is as much  drama with her or not, but she is a screamer at all things medical.  She screams at the sight of a needle even before it touches her, much like I was as a kid, lol.)  She has pain meds and anti-inflammatory meds as well.  I have a support harness on hand here, just have it, just in case for anyone of these hounds, so when she has to do the few stairs we have in and out, I will bear her weight burden, and it snuggles far enough under her front end to not be pressure on her sore spot.  
The conclusion is a possible muscle injury.  The pain meds are helping.  She is the princess tonight, she doesn't have to move at all.  Food and beverage are adequately, but not over done, served to her.
She will be 9 on June 11, and I think a big part of her misery to see the Vet was being separated from her liter mate, Nigel (Lord Nigel Buttons), and some of the moans she expressed were from pain, some from separation.  She seems comfortable now, to the best of my ability to judge.
I drank wine for her as I  got some for my Sister and I to share.  Sis is very close to "the squish".

PS -  we have added stair cases to the couches now.  They have been on the beds forever.  Next job, find a carpenter to build some ramps.
