    A bunch of Bassets and Beagles need to be pulled from a high kill shelter in Newton, NC.

Animals That Need Rescue
If you can rescue an animal on this list, please email Jennifer Sigmon at jennifersigmon at catawbacountync.gov. Volunteer: Crystal Hartman <catawbacountydogs at gmail.com>. To offer rescue placement to an animal on this list, you must email Jennifer. The group must fill out and submit the rescue agreement form and supporting documents, and be approved to pull from our shelter. 
If your rescue group has never pulled from our shelter then we will need to approve your group to pull from us. We would need the attached rescue group agreement to be filled out and sent back along with a copy of your group’s 501c3 and a copy of your group’s adoption contract. Rescue group approval may take 24 hours or more depending contact to the references. Please remember to fill out the rescue group agreement entirely. Please do not wait until the “need out” date to begin the process of pulling an animal. We do not have the ability to be no-kill due to the large numbers we take in. 
Our main method of contact regarding rescues is EMAIL. DUE TO THE NUMBER OF RESPONSE EMAILS, PLEASE ONLY RESPOND IF YOU CAN HELP PULL THE ANIMAL AND PLACE THAT ANIMAL’S NAME IN THE SUBJECT LINE OF THE RESPONSE EMAIL.

Please note: We cannot guarantee the breed of a dog. We can only speak as to what breed we think the animal is.

LUCY
A162289 - UNALTERED FEMALE, TRICOLOR BEAGLE, 2Y –Brought in as stray. Seems housetrained. Good with other dogs. Good with kids. Very sweet and friendly. Weighs about 18 lbs. Must be out by 11/9.

LUIGI
A162395 - UNALTERED MALE, BLACK BORDER COLLIE MIX, 7M –Owner surrendered because did not want anymore. Good with other dogs. Very sweet and friendly. Weighs about 25 -30lbs. Must be out by 11/9.

JOY
A162466 - UNALTERED FEMALE, BROWN BOXER/SHARPEI mix, 5Y –Brought in as stray. Seems housetrained. Good with other dogs of all sizes. Sweet and shy at first. Weighs about 38 lbs. She appears pregnant. Must be out by 11/9.

PRINCESS
A162531 - UNALTERED FEMALE, BLACK GERM SHEPHERD and BASSET HOUND, 1Y 7M –Owner surrendered because lady could not afford to care for. Good with other dogs. Very sweet and friendly. Weighs about 29lbs. Must be out by 11/9.  
TAZ
A162565 - UNALTERED MALE, BLACK BORDER COLLIE, 6Y –Owner surrendered because they said he was tearing up things in the house and is not housetrained. Very sweet and super friendly. Knows sit and down command. Cat tested-ok with cats as far as we can tell. Weighs about 35-40 lbs. Must be out by 11/9.

A162310 - UNALTERED FEMALE, TRICOLOR BASSET HOUND, 5Y –Brought in as stray. Good with other dogs. Super sweet and friendly with everybody. Weighs about 22 lbs. Must be out by 11/9.
