[Dailydrool] words and learning

One thing I have noticed that my DH does is to confuse the dogs with his
"commands" despite my nagging him half to death; for example,
"Conley come on, stop it."
Ok what does he want? Does he want me to come? That's the first thing
Conley hears is Conley "come"- not the rest.
"Nigel for god's sake don't do that"
This, in my opinion is a totally useless comment. Nigel hears his name. The
rest is nonsense.
"No I am not giving you a treat"-- two words are heard: You, and Treat. The
TONE may give it away but the words won't.
The constant fight to teach DH the difference between "Down" and "Off".
No you're not going out right now
(should be: "back" or "wait")
You can't have that it's mine
(Should be: "Give" or "Out" or better yet, "Leave it")

I could go on and on and on but it is easier to train the dogs than the
husband.
