[Dailydrool] poisen and neighbors

Hi all, it's the clueless momPerson here,

Well, I've had dogs all my life.  So I have had any number of scares.  I have 
kids too and I KNOW I'm clueless .... I mean, I keep the DISHWASHER detergent in 
the cabinet above the refrigerator and all cleaning supplies in a LOCKED cabinet 
in the man cave cause I did all that when my girls were very little and never 
saw a good reason to undo it.  Limits how much toxic stuff I collect.  Even so 
....

There was the time my sweet Maggie came crying to me for help in the middle of 
the night.  She'd been walked and gone to bed and came out a couple of hours 
later crying and barely able to walk with her eyes swelled shut.  So ..... I 
stuffed a benedryl down her thinking allergy and called my mom (may her memory 
be for blessing) and mom said "Dale NO, she's sniffed somewhere that has just 
been sprayed with poisen, get a prednezone in her NOW and monitor her breathing 
so I did and after about half an hour she improved and the eyes started to 
open.  Mom stayed with me on the phone about 2 hours and I cannot remember what 
all we did ..... I remember making hot dog soup (over and over) so she would 
drink LOTS of water to flush her system ..... Gosh I miss my mom .......

And then there was the time (recently) where LuLu found some loose dirt and 
snarfed something and I went to check and some idiot had put out GOPHER bait on 
the parking strip ..... we RAN all the way home I got hydrogen peroxide down her 
and prayed real hard .......

And then there was the time that Cyrus walked through some wet grass and when we 
came home his feet were red and blistered (someone had JUST fertilized) ..... 
and we soaked his poor feet changing the water a bunch of times and used aloe 
vera and polysporon.

And then there was the time we went to the dog park only to be told to go home 
FAST because some idiot has scattered poisened cheese all around the perimeter.

I am just as careful as I can possibly be.  And I encourage everyone else to be 
too.  That .... and pray real hard.

P.S.  

Recipe for Hot dog soup:

place 1 hot dog in 2 oz of water and microwave for 1 min
take out the hot dog
add 8 oz of water to cool it down and offer to the dog.  It should disappear.
Repeat as needed
