Pam = we need fully-washable dog beds here too.  I've never been able
to tolerate the doggy smell for long with those beds that only have
washable covers.  We tend to use a king-size blanket or quilt, folded
into a nice, comfy pad.  Then when it gets dirty, voila, into the
washer with it!
