My oh my! Miss Zelda, thank you SO much for your reminder about Basset Rules. First and foremost is "Keep 'em guessing," LOL Consistency is NOT a Basset trait...except when it comes to food, be it meals or treats. These items are consistently on the TOP of a Basset's list of things which are worth doing something for such as "Leaving it," stopping the barking/howling/"LOOKING" which precedes dinner...well, you get the idea. You see, Bassets really are in charge of their world. They just deign to allow us to think we are from time to time...if it suits their needs, LOL. Dale, LOVE that Gracie slept snuggled with Snoopy. Better that than a middle-of-the-night war at your feet.

Pawtunia - you are, of course, correct in reminding us that real Princess status must be earned and granted when deemed worthy but an official granter of such things. Fairy Princess status, however, is different. It is, shall we say, an "edgier" status, LOL. And, no...poop eating is not a must. Just a coincidental trait shared by several here. Hehehe...

Marlene - I can understand your concern about two seemingly unattended Goldens minding a baby-filled stroller. Even the most trustworthy of canines could have an "off" moment but like Dale and Bev said, there are some dogs for whom doing what comes natural to others would just never cross their mind. I have a friend who has a Golden grand-dog who is her pet therapy partner. Bruce is probably one of the most laid back, well-behaved dogs ever. There are folks here on the Drool who have Bassets which also do this. You simply have to know your dog. Personally, however, I wouldn't ever not have a hand on a carriage or stroller with my baby in it, no matter what. It only takes a second. Just MHO, however.

Waryear Princez and Princessez - Wow! How very cool is THIS! I think anyone who protects their family and pack from harm is definitely ROYALTY! Great idea, Conley!

The storms which passed through the south brought rain, high winds and COLD air to NJ as well. I am SO sorry to hear that one of our Droolers had damage to their home. HAPPY to learn it was property damage and that you are all SAFE! Hugs...it must be very scary to have that kind of close call. Unfortunately, weather people are predicting a record number of storms for this hurricane/storm season. Prayers that they are wrong...

Hugs and snooter and drool to all who need it,
Sandi, Mamaslave to Delilah the Fairy Princess and Dozer, the senior dude.
