[Dailydrool] Talkers

My Betsy will ahroo only for "special occasions" and never on command. We
haven't quite figured out the rhyme or reason. She often ahroos for her
dinner, but not every night. We love the ahroo so much we try to make her
ahroo for her bowl, but that really only works about 1/3 of the time. We
encourage her and talk to her and make silly voices and usually get a bark
in return and finally just give her the bowl. When we don't ask for it
though, she'll give us a full-body rear back and howl, which is great.

Very rarely, she'll sit right in your face and ahroo when she believes you
should be paying more attention to her. This one is quite funny because it
comes out of nowhere. Not sure what suddenly makes her decide it merits an
ahroo. It's only handful of times a year.

The last is the sweetest - she very much does not like when I cry and she
will climb up right next to me and ahroo. I don't know if she's yelling at
me to stop or does it because she knows it makes me smile, but it's so
great and sweet of her.

My Flash has never ahrooed - I'm pretty sure that is way more effort than
he'd prefer to put into anything. He does, however, have a whole cacaphony
of other little noises the likes of which I've never heard from any dog. He
whines and cries like the world is coming to an end. He also grumbles and
does this "rar rar rar rar" talking thing that makes us giggle every time.
He's our barker, but it's usually at absolutely nothing. Like he's just
testing to make sure his voice still works or to make sure you are still
paying attention to him. They're short little bursts of noise, like it
escaped before he knew how to stop it. He also is a dream talker and he
sleeps 18 hours a day, so there's a whole set of groans and noises that
just happen when he's chasing rabbits in his dreams.

What a fun thread.
