Charlie and I went to a beginning obedience class where another person in the class asked the trainer about the very problem you're having with Daisy. The trainer recommended a methodical, teeny-step by teeny-step approach. 1. Get her to go near the car, when she does, praise and treat. Keep doing this until there's no hesitation on her part (takes minutes or days, depending on her fear-level). 2. Get her to get into the car, praise, treat, let her out (keep it up, same process/timing as #1). 3. Get her into the car, and start the car, turn it off, praise, treat, let her out (same process). 4. Get her into the car, start it, drive or back up a few feet, praise, treat, let her out. 5. Ditto, go to the end of the driveway. 6. Ditto, drive down the street. 7. More ditto, drive around the neighborhood. It can all take a long time, or not, depending on how scared or sick she gets. Best of luck!
