That is just one article I found via Google.  I put in "tacking a dog's 
stomach" and a number of things popped up.  Many of them referred 
specifically to Great Danes, but all large chested dogs seem to be 
considered Bloat possible.  Now remember, we had it done to the girls when 
the vet was already in the general area...during spaying.

Talk to your vet.  It doesn't prevent bloat, it does prevent the stomach 
from flipping.

Wouldn't it be nice if none of these bad things ever happened?
