[Dailydrool] Thank You Droolers!

The Howlidays have sped by like a pack of hounds hearing BATH DAY - I noticed yesterday I still have a Halloween wreath on the front door - my Grandmother would disown me if she knew!
As I think back on 2013 and smile with memories of beloved hounds finding homes, those special miracle cases snuggling with families who treasure them and give snooter kisses at grime in bed sheets and cheer on the most wicked of counter cruising techniques.  It is truly humbling to see the human spirit heal and make well the years of neglect and abuse a rescued hound experienced.
Thank you to every transporter, foster, rehabber, rescuer and adoptive family.


Here at Daphneyland we started out December with the flight of the NY19 to ABC Basset Rescue and have been able to bring in another 25 bassets during the course of the month so far. Many additional hounds have been adopted here during the month as well.  Our last adoption of the year will be tonight as Julia heads to her new home.  Amidst all of these activities the Droolers Howliday Cards have been arriving and bring such cheer to everyone here at Daphneyland - volunteers, staff, guests and visitors have smiles from ear to ear as each day brings a new batch.  Thank you for thinking of us and mailing us sunshine in an envelope, for those cards do really make a long day less grueling on the humans.


As we head into the New Year our annual Rainbow Bridge ceremony and ringing in 2014 with our current babies begins. New blankies have arrived and will hug each hound here tonight as they snuggle down - bellies full, many pets and special treats whirling through their dreams.
