> welcome to Mila, our foster girl who arrived this afternoon by plane from Honolulu. so far so good. we introduced the dogs outside, off leash, one by one, then later moved into the house. Bo, who is mostly blind, had a dickens of a time finding Mila. Nose in the air, he kept heading to where she last was, only to discover she had moved on. eventually they caught up with one another and Bo was delighted. Mila is still a bit timid, and Harley is concerned that he remain head honcho. Mila seems willing to accept this and I have high hopes of a harmonious pack. we will see what happens tonight when the world explodes. Hawaii is a legal fireworks state and fireworks are a strong tradition for locals of all Asian and pacific origins, so New Year's Eve generally resembles the front lines of a war zone. We close all the windows, draw the blinds, turn up the TV, and hunker down from about 5 PM until about 3 AM. Bo and Harley are always both terrified? We will see how Mila does. she may think she has been flown to Syria.
