[Dailydrool] Clara

I was saddened to read that Clara is off to a new perch~ but of course I am very happy for her. She certainly deserves it!
When Clara first started dictating her posts to Debbie- I was very upset at how a hound was received at the bridge. The whole inspection thing upon arrival really had me in an emotional uproar. All I could think was that when old man Elvis does finally get there- the last thing I'd want for him to have to do is pass muster! He's been though a lot. He's a sweetheart. He's a survivor. It wasn't until a couple of years ago when Debbie and I were in michigan that she explained to me that the 'inspection' was not really that. It was meant to show those of us left behind that our beloved babies were now whole and healthy again. Ahhhh- now I understood. How sweet when I thought of it that way around.
Clara may be off to a new perch- but the images that her words have painted in our minds will remain. Every time another one of our hounds goes to the bridge, we know they will be welcomed by everyone there and the perfect place awaits them.
Thank you Clara and Debbie for all the love you brought and all the tears you shed with every one of your posts!
