[Dailydrool] Gastritis and eating junk

Glad to hear Snoopy is feeling better, my guess is he ate something you
didn't see that really upset his system, and once it settles down he will be
fine. Until next time, of course. Our Holly loves to eat nuts out of yards
on our walks, even though one type makes her extremely sick. And of course
she tries to snag all kinds of poop, some of which makes her sick.
(Really??!!). I don't know that this is true, but I wonder if your Snoopy
is like my Holly and has a very easily upset digestive system.

Sister Holly da Dolly is my girl with the touchy tummy. The first year she
was with us, she would get an upset stomach (and sometimes bloody diarrhea)
at least 2 or 3 days every week. I'm not kidding, at least 2 or 3 days a
week. I'd give her Pepto-Bismol at the first sign of intestinal screeching
and refusing food, and she would be back to normal the next day, and then it
would start all over again. The bloody diarrhea scared me to death, and I
felt like eventually she would develop pancreatitis, which we all know can
be deadly. Once I started cooking a special rice porridge (with meat and
veggies) and adding it to their kibble, Holly stopped getting sick. She can
eat people food, all kinds of treats, whatever, and she is fine as long as
she doesn't score something nasty on a walk.

Oh, I forgot to mention this - remember Holly hurt her back a couple of
weeks ago? The Vet took an x-ray, and she asked me if I knew that Holly
eats rocks. HUH??!!! Yep, the x-ray showed a bunch of little rocks in her
stomach. Vet said not dangerous and nothing to worry about. I was totally,
completely flabbergasted. Could not believe it. Miss Picky eats rocks.
You just never know.
