[Dailydrool] Maggie Wags and steroids

I think I've mentioned before that I don't give my animals steroids unless
there is absolutely no other choice left. This is because I had a cat,
Mocha, who took steroids for severe allergies and asthma and eventually came
down with cancer and died at 8 years old. Way, way too soon, and she was my
special baby. However, if I had it all to do over again, I'd still give her
the steroid shots, because absolutely nothing else helped her, and without
the steroid shots she would have died a lot sooner of respiratory
infections. Sometimes there simply are no good options. Marlene, doG knows
that you have tried everything, and I do mean everything, to help Maggie.
And it's not working. To me, quality of life is very important, and poor
Maggie's has to be pretty bad a lot of the time. If the steroids help her,
especially if they make a big difference, I think I'd put her on them and go
for quality time. Poor girl.
